Cybersecurity Architecture & Operations Lead

Angelicoussis Group, one of the world’s leading ship management organizations is looking for an experienced and motivated professional to cover a permanent position as a Cybersecurity Architecture & Operations Lead.

About the role        
The Cybersecurity Architecture & Operations Lead is a senior, hands-on technical role combining security architecture and cybersecurity operations across Angelicoussis Group’s IT and OT environments. The role will lead the secure solution design and technical standards while strengthening security monitoring, detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and core security platforms. The successful candidate will bring strong architectural judgement, deep operational expertise, and the ability to address complex cyber risks with business and technology stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead security by design across IT and OT solutions, cloud services, infrastructure, and integrations by defining and maintaining security architectures, standards, controls, and implementation roadmaps.

• Conduct architecture reviews and technical risk assessments, identify control gaps, define proportionate mitigations, and validate security requirements before launch or go-live.

• Own the engineering, integration, optimization, and continuous improvement of security technologies, including SIEM, EDR/XDR, cloud, identity, network, and vulnerability-management capabilities.

• Strengthen monitoring and detection by analyzing security telemetry, developing and tuning SIEM use cases and alerts, supporting threat hunting, and improving detection coverage and response workflows.

• Lead technical incident response and escalation, including investigation, containment, recovery, root-cause analysis, and implementation of lessons learned.

• Drive vulnerability and exposure reduction through secure configuration, assessment, remediation prioritization, patching oversight, control validation, and risk reporting.

• Partner with business, IT, and Operations stakeholders to protect critical services and deliver secure, resilient solutions that balance operational needs, usability, and risk.

• Act as a senior technical advisor, translating emerging threats and technologies into practical improvements across architecture, engineering, monitoring, and incident response.

Candidate must have

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

• At least eight years of hands-on information security experience spanning security architecture, engineering, and cybersecurity operations.

• Proven ability to design and assess security architectures and translate business and risk requirements into effective controls across IT, cloud, and preferably OT environments.

• Strong practical experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR, cloud security, identity, networks, vulnerability management, detection engineering, investigations, and incident response.

• Strong analytical judgement, ownership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to lead complex technical issues and influence senior stakeholders.

• Relevant certifications, such as GICSP, GCIH, GCIA, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent, and experience in an industrial or maritime environment will be considered assets.

• Collaborative, proactive, and fluent in written and spoken Greek and English.
