Senior HSQE Superintendent

Maran Tankers Management Inc., one of the world’s leading ship management companies and part of the Angelicoussis Group is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior HSQE Superintendent.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of three (3) HSQE Superintendents, responsible collectively for a fleet of 20 vessels.

• Oversee fleet compliance with the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS) and ensure consistent implementation across assigned vessels.

• Evaluate SMS effectiveness and submit proposals for improvement.

• Attend vessels and conduct internal audits (ISM, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, ISO 45001, ISPS).

• Follow up on fleet SMS reports and ensure timely close-out of corrective actions.

• Coordinate and support preparation of vessels for third-party inspections.

• Participate in the Company’s Emergency Response Team when required.

• Prepare Management Review Reports and participate in Management Review Meeting

• Participate in TMSA Reviews

• Oversee the preparation of departmental training materials and presentations.

• Lead or review incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are effectively communicated.

• Supervise the development and revision of HSQE procedures under the role’s responsibility.

• Monitor fleet performance against Company KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate must have

• Proven experience in a senior HSQE position within a reputable shipping company

• Seagoing experience will be considered an advantage

• Demonstrated experience in:

  • Management Review Meetings and reports

  • Incident investigation reporting

  • TMSA submissions and participation

  • Analysis of statistical data

• Familiarity with:

  • Electronic Safety Management Systems and forms

  • Risk assessment and Management of Change processes

  • TMSA Review preparation

• Fluency in written and spoken English

• Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills
